With under a week to go until the Promise Auction (Friday 4th July) and the main Market Bosworth Country show (Sunday 6th July) the work really starts for the dedicated band of volunteers.
Converting the land at Cow Pastures farm into a showground suitable for welcoming around 12,000 visitors is no easy feat. With the main work starting on Wednesday 2nd July; by late Saturday all marquees will be errected, posts/barriers and fences in place, trade stands sited and signs pasted up.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer you would be most welcome however we recommend that you contact the show secretary for details of how you can get involved.
Due to exceptionally high rain fall in June & July 2007 the show had to be cancelled at the last minute resulting in a unretrivalable loss in the region of £20,000.
As a result a "promise auction" will be held on the Friday (4th July) before Market Bosworth Show to enable us to make a donation to our nominated 2008 charity (Macmilian Nurses) and go some way to replenishing the Society's fund to ensure continuation of future shows.
Tickets for the event are £15 each and includes a buffet supper (licensed payable bar also available all evening.) For tickets please contact Louise Nicholson either by phone (07870 907 377) or email (l.o.u@btopenworld.com).
A full list of items for auction can be seen by clicking here but these already include; "Porsche or Boxster for the weekend", "Clay pigeon shooting lesson for 2 people", Portable Television" and much more
Information on the new features of Market Bosworth Show in 2008; mainly the food court area and the Friday night auction will appear soon.
The Market Bosworth Agricultural, Horticultural & Equestrian Society are pleased to announce that the 2008 Market Bosworth Show will be held on Sunday 6th July.
It is with regret that after inspection of the showground earlier today the 2007 Market Bosworth Show has been cancelled. This decision was not taken lightly but unfortunately recent weather conditions have prevented the event taking place.
Show personnel will be in contact with competitors and entrants where appropriate.
The show has only been cancelled previously due to periods of war (1915-18 & 1940-44) and a national foot & mouth epidemic(2001).
The revised 2007 Entertainment Timetable has been published to the website. Visit the What's On page for details.
