- Disclaimer of Liability. In this clause the term Exhibitor shall include persons taking part in any competition or display arranged by the Show Committee, and the owner of any animal, plant, machinery or other thing involved in any such competition or display or otherwise exhibited on the show ground. Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the committee, its servants or agents, the committee will not be responsible for death, injury, disease, damage or loss caused to any exhibitor or to his or her servant or agent or to any animal, article, plant, machinery or thing of whatever bature brought on to the show ground by the said exhibitor from whatever cause death, injury, disease, damage or loss arises. (Save as aforesaid) the exhibitor shall indemnify the committee against all claims, damages and expenses whatsoever in any way arising out of the presence of the exhibitor, his servants, agents, exhibits, vehicles or equipment on the showground and shall assume full responsibility therefore.
- The Council of the Society reserves the right to refuse entry.
- Entries close, Friday, 23rd May, 2008.
Show Jumping Entries: Friday, 13th June 2008. Entries for Show Jumping Classes will also be taken on the day but entry fees for Classes in Ring 1 will be an extra £2 per class and for the Main Ring an extra £5 per class - LATE ENTRIES NOT ACCEPTED.
- Nomination entries will not be accepted.
- No entry money will be refunded except under B.S.J.A. Rules.
- All remittances in payment of entry fees, membership fees, etc. should be crossed and made payable to the MARKET BOSWORTH AGRICULTURAL, HORTICULTURAL AND EQUESTRIAN SOCIETY.
- The numbers that each Competitor will receive from the Secretary, by post, must be worn in a conspicuous place. Numbers will not be issued until all fees are paid and duplicate numbers will not be issued at any time. Exhibitors must number their own animals. Any animal not numbered will be passed over by the Judges.
- No substitution of Exhibits is permitted, except in the Show Jumping Classes when the B.S.J.A. Rules will apply.
- All jumping competitions will be judged under current B.S.JA. Rules and Regulations.
- Competitors may be disqualified from any Class for not observing the Rules or causing unnecessary delay to the continuity of the Sow.
- The Council reserves the right to vary or add to the panel of Judges as it is deemed necessary.
- A Judge may withhold any prize if, in his opinion, an exhibit is of insufficient merit.
- If there are not more than three entries in a Class it is left to discretion of the Judge and Stewards to withhold the First and other prizes should the quality of the entries not justify a prize.
- Where there is doubt regarding the age of a Competitor, he or she must be prepared to produce a Birth Certificate.
- Where the height of a horse or pony is specified in any Class, the Steward,
Official or Judge, may require such an animal to be measured by the Society's
Veterinary
Surgeon, unless the animal has an official measurement certificate issued by the Joint Measurement Board. Half an inch will be allowed for normal shoes. - Objections must be made in writing and accompanied by a deposit of £100 and handed to the Secretary within five minutes of the finish of the event concerned.
- No animal suffering from a contagious disease may be brought on to the Showground.
- In the event of an Honorary Veterinary Surgeon advising the removal of any animal from the Showground his decision shall be immediately complied with.
- Unless otherwise stated, Cups and Trophies are for Perpetual Competition and remain the property of the Society. Cups/Trophies should be collected on Show Day, by the winners, from the Secretary's Office. A receipt must be given and the Cup/Trophy returned to the Secretary on or before 12th June of the following year. It is the responsibility of all Cup and Trophy winners to ensure that these are returned promptly. Cups and Trophies must be insured whilst in the winners possession and whilst in transit to the Society.
- Prize money will be paid out after the class has been judged at the Treasurer's Caravan. Prize money not collected on Show Day will be forfeited and donated to the relevant Charity suggested by the Society.
- No person may deliberately and knowingly enter and show a horse or pony under a Judge who is known to have bred, sold or produced that animal.
- Reduced Entry Fees for Members related to fully paid up Members of the Market Bosworth Agricultural, Horticultural and Equestrian Society. No passes will be issued or concessions allowed until all fees etc. are paid in full.
- All persons entering, competing or exhibiting an animal in a class covered by a Breed Society either to which the Society is affiliated or which is affiliated to the Society shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the relevant Breed Society and be subject to its constitution and rules (including any disciplinary procedures) insofar as they are applicable to any event, competition or display promoted or arranged by this Society.
- No person who shall have been shown to the satisfaction of the Council to have been excluded from exhibiting for prizes at shows, sales or exhibitions or any other Breed or Agricultural Society, Association or Club and no person who is under exclusion or suspension from any Breed Society or Agricultural Society, Association or Club shall be allowed to exhibit at this or any other Show or Society.
- Anyone on a horse or pony must wear a hard hat at all times.
- A skull cap or a hat and safety harness according to current British Safety Standards must be worn by ALL competitors in the jumping phase of Working Hunter Classes. Skull caps must have a navy blue or black cover.
- B.S.JA. Rule 82.21 - No member shall allow a stallion for which he/she is responsible as owner, lessee, authorised agent or rider to compete or be prepared to compete, in any show jumping competition without taking adequate precautions to ensure other members of the public are not put at risk of injury.
Acceptance of the foregoing provisions shall be a condition of entry.
Exhibitors are advised to insure against fire and other appropriate risk not only as regards their own property but also against third party claim.
Entry to the Show is by ticket, and every ticket is issued on the understanding that the person to whom the ticket is issued is on the Showground entirely at his/her own risk and must have deemed to take the Showground and thereon as he finds it. He shall not have or make any claim for injury or damage against Market Bosworth Agricultural and Equestrian Society or its respective Officers, Agents or Workmen, however such injury or damage shall be caused.
